Welcome to SECA Academy!
At Special Education Consulting and Advocacy Academy, we train you to become a special education advocate. Here is what you receive:
***You will receive 2 full days of training that align with COPAA's professional standards
***You will receive 1 full day of compliance training on IDEA, Section 504, OCR, Due Process and filing with the state for complaints
***You will receive 1 full day of training in questioning techniques to hold schools accountable and get the data the team needs
***You will receive 1/2 day of training on thorough file reviews and how to find misalignments in the IEP, look for violations in Least Restrictive Environment, determining if IEP goals are rigorous yet attainable, and more!
***You will receive 10 sessions of shadowing for file reviews
***You will receive 5 sessions of shadowing for IEP meetings
***You will receive weekly collaborative case conversations
***You will continue to have access to support from SECA as a lifelong member of SECA Academy.
